1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Firewood Tracker (firewoodtracker.com), you agree to these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use the platform.
2. Description of Service
Firewood Tracker is a free web app for people who heat with wood and for the businesses that sell firewood. Members track their woodpile and their fires, compare wood species, take part in the community and order firewood from sellers. Sellers use it to manage their customers, orders, stands and operations. Some pages, such as firewood stands and seller profiles, are public and can be viewed without an account.
3. Membership and Invitation Codes
Anyone may create an account, unless an administrator temporarily limits signups to people holding an invitation code. Invitation codes are single-use and non-transferable. You must provide accurate information and keep one account per person. Firewood Tracker reserves the right to refuse registration, suspend, or revoke any account at its sole discretion, without notice or obligation to provide reasons.
4. Orders and Payments
Firewood is sold by independent sellers, not by Firewood Tracker. When you place an order, the sale is between you and the seller, who sets the price, confirms or declines the order, and is responsible for the wood, its measure and quality, its delivery and any refund. Most orders are paid directly to the seller, by the method the seller indicates; Firewood Tracker does not receive or hold those payments. Where a seller accepts an online deposit, it is processed securely by Stripe, Inc. (stripe.com) in Canadian dollars (CAD), and is non-refundable unless the order is cancelled by the seller or by us. We never store your full card number; only a Stripe transaction confirmation token is retained. Prices may change without notice until an order is confirmed.
5. Sellers
A business must be approved by an administrator before it can sell on the platform. Each seller is responsible for its listings, prices, stands and the information it publishes; for complying with the laws that apply to its business, including measurement, tax and consumer-protection rules; and for using its customers’ information only to serve those customers. Firewood Tracker charges sellers no fees or commission. An equipment listing must be for a machine the business owns and keeps on the platform; its service history is the seller's own records, which Firewood Tracker shows as recorded but does not verify. We may suspend a business, or hide a stand or listing, that breaks these terms or is the subject of credible reports.
6. Community Rewards and Giveaways
Members earn non-monetary rewards through participation on the platform: kindling, a spendable in-app credit, and rings, a reputation score. These rewards have no monetary, legal, or cash-redemption value and cannot be transferred or used to pay for firewood. Giveaways are governed by the rules shown on each giveaway, including eligibility, the number of entries allowed and the skill-testing question that winners must answer; entering requires a verified account, and winners are drawn by a publicly verifiable process. Firewood Tracker may modify, suspend, or discontinue these rewards at any time without notice.
7. Community Conduct and Your Content
When you post messages, photos, reviews or reports, you must respect other members and the law: no harassment, spam, fraud, illegal content, or content you do not have the right to share. You keep ownership of what you post and grant Firewood Tracker a licence to host and display it on the platform for as long as it remains there. Administrators may remove content and restrict accounts that break these rules.
8. Account and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Please notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access to your account. Firewood Tracker cannot be held liable for losses resulting from a failure to meet this obligation.
9. Intellectual Property
All platform content (text, graphics, software, trademarks), other than the content posted by members and sellers, belongs to Firewood Tracker or its licensors. Any reproduction, distribution, or commercial use without prior written authorization is prohibited.
10. Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Firewood Tracker is not a party to sales between members and sellers, including equipment sold through listings or transferred between businesses, and is not responsible for the wood or equipment sold, its condition, its delivery, or its payment. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Firewood Tracker shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the service.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and Canada. Any dispute arising from these terms or the use of the platform falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Côte-Nord, Quebec.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you by email at least fifteen (15) days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
