Lorne Wanamaker

I’m Lorne Wanamaker. I live on Quebec’s North Shore, the Côte-Nord. I’ve heated with wood for most of my life, about 30 years on and off, and I’ve been selling firewood for about four years.

I started with maybe 10 cords a year. Now I’m at about 100, and it looks like it’s going to keep growing, fast. It’s just me and one other guy doing the work.

I’m a strong believer in wood heat. We should all have the self-reliance to keep ourselves and our families warm. That matters a lot to me.

I wrote the guide to help other firewood sellers with the things I had a hard time with: taxes, sales tax, depreciation, records and selling by a legal measure. I wanted all that information in one place and easy to get to, with a source for every fact.
